Peninsula Cancer Center
On September 01, 2009 Peninsula Cancer Center opened its doors. Establishing a premier Cancer Center on the Peninsula is a realization of a shared dream of Dr. Berit Madsen and Dr. R. Alex Hsi. For more than a decade, the two physicians practiced in Seattle and treated many patients traveling from the Kitsap and Olympic Peninsulas. The daily commute took a physical and emotional toll on patients. They knew that there was a real need for additional radiation oncology services on the Peninsula.
Dr. Berit Madsen and Dr. R. Alex Hsi bring more than 25 years of experience in cancer care to Peninsula Cancer Center, along with a stellar track record for patient satisfaction. They have also assembled a first-rate team of physicists, dosimetrists, therapists, nurses, and front office staff and invested in leading-edge equipment to achieve the best possible medical outcomes.

The Skin Cancer Center
The Skin Cancer Center, a network of medical specialists providing comprehensive skin cancer care, was founded in 2009 by Justin Piasecki, MD. Dr. Piasecki is the only surgeon in the world who is double board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and is also a member of the Mohs College.
With this unique training, Dr. Piasecki pioneered plastic micrographic surgery. This treatment method combines the highest cure rate for basal and squamous cell carcinoma of Mohs surgery, with immediate cosmetic reconstruction, for the most cost effective and convenient approach to skin cancer care.
The Skin Cancer Center specialists diagnose and treat all types of skin cancer. Using the Mayo Clinic model of a multidisciplinary team located in the same facility, the Center offers all aspects of skin cancer care, including:
Routine skin cancer screening – recommended annually for most and every six months for those who have had skin cancer
Biopsy results within 24 hours
Multiple treatment options – liquid nitrogen, ED & C, simple excision, radiation, Mohs surgery, plastic micrographic surgery
Lymph node dissection
